We are delighted to share our 2016 public examination results with you. These results reflect the hard work of both staff and girls and represent significant added value.
We were particularly delighted with our A and AS Level results. The girls achieved an A*/B rate of 81% with 50% of all grades A*/A. This represents huge added value on a fully comprehensive Sixth Form and RMS outperformed far more selective schools, both independent and maintained. Girls were very successful in gaining places at their universities of first choice. We are also encouraged by the success of girls who choose to take up apprenticeships at highly prestigious companies as an alternative pathway to university. Often this decision has been reinforced by their work experience placement and once again, Mrs Isherwood working closely with parents and other contacts, set up a remarkable range of experiences for Year 11 girls after their GCSEs. GCSE results were also very pleasing with almost 60% of grades A*/A and many girls gained top grades across the board. Our results were affected by the downward pressure on top grades that has been reported nationally and we believe that this is paving the way for the new grading system to be introduced next year.
All these results demonstrate that hard work and consistent application really pay off.
