Rewards and Sanctions

At Cadogan House, high standards of behaviour are expected, and the School wants to work with parents to ensure that this is achieved.

While we encourage the girls to treat others with the care and consideration which they would hope to be shown themselves, we also focus on the following values each month:

  • Respect
  • Participation
  • Compassion
  • Courage to challenge oneself
  • Responsibility
  • Honesty
  • Commitment
  • Tolerance

Cadogan House uses positive reinforcement rather than negative sanctions.

Rainbow Courtesy Colours

At RMS we believe that it is important to show good manners to everyone we meet, both adults and children alike.  Girls are awarded a Rainbow Courtesy badge when they have shown that they can be relied upon to behave in all of the ten ways shown below.  The badge will be a different colour depending on the year in which the girl is.  They will wear their badge until they receive a different coloured badge the following year.  We hope that all girls will be awarded a badge each year, but it may not be at the same time of year each year.  Whilst some girls will easily maintain standard of courtesy, others may need to work a little harder to do so.
