Speech and Drama Teacher (Self Employed) - Required September 2018

We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Speech and Drama teacher to join the peripatetic staff at RMS within our thriving Performing Arts faculty. We can offer up to 2 days of teaching each week during the school term. The successful applicant would prepare students for a range of exams across the grades, including LAMDA Acting, Verse and Prose and Public Speaking, and RADA Shakespeare certificates.

Cover manager MLC - required September 2018

We are looking to recruit a Cover Manager who will be responsible for managing and organising cover for absent teachers to ensure continuity in learning for our pupils. The role will involve advising senior team on the need to bring in external supply as well as organising and providing induction and support for supply agency staff. The role will also involve the supervision of classes or groups of pupils in the absence of teaching staff.

Housekeeping Porter - required September 2018

Applications are invited for the post of part time Housekeeping Porter at The Royal Masonic School for Girls. RMS is an independent, day and boarding school with a supportive and nurturing ethos. Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this is an important role in supporting a large Housekeeping team of approximately 25 members of staff, working on an extensive site. The post-holder will provide essential assistance with tasks involving manual handling and working at height in order for the team to successfully deliver high standards of cleanliness across all areas of the School.

In addition to the cleaning remit, the Housekeeping Manager is also responsible for the organisation of replacement flooring, blinds and soft furnishings so support is required in the delivery of these aspects of work too.

The role is Monday to Friday, 6.00am until 10.00am for 52 weeks per annum.

House Matron - Required September 2018

House Matron

Fixed Term Contract for 1 year, reviewable thereafter

Approx. 40 hours per week including weekends (with consecutive days off during the week)

Harris House is one of our three boarding houses and accommodates around 40, full, weekly and flexi boarders from Years 5 to 9. We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic House Matron to join our lively and forward thinking boarding team who oversee the welfare of 100 boarders in a total of 3 Houses. Along with the Housemistress and Houseparent you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the boarding house, and the pastoral care and support of the boarders, creating a happy, respectful, safe and caring atmosphere in the House. You will also be responsible for weekend cover in the other boarding houses, on rotation.

RMS boarders enjoy a lively and varied programme of activities and benefit from outstanding pastoral care.

If you have experience working with, caring for or inspiring and supporting young people to develop, ideally in an educational setting, and are prepared to commit to life as a resident member of staff in this thriving School, please apply. You will need to have a flexible approach to your duties and a sense of humour. A clean driving licence and first aid certificate would be advantageous.

You will be provided with one bedroom flat in the boarding house in which you will be required to reside during term time; the accommodation is available all year round.

Afternoon Sports Centre Supervisor - Required September 2018

The School has an excellent Sports Centre on site, which is used by pupils for PE and sports both during the day and after school, and also, under the management of Nuffield Health, by members of the public in the evenings.

We are seeking an Afternoon Sports Centre Supervisor, to oversee the safe operation of the Centre for our pupils who attend after school clubs and other activities. This person will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of the pupils’ safety, from the moment they enter the Sports Centre until they are seen off with their parents at the end of the club or activity.

It will require a thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and practice, an empathy with younger students and the confidence to manage adults in the Centre where necessary to ensure pupil safety.

The position is required Monday – Friday from 3.15pm until 6.15pm (15 hours per week).
